Mindful breathing with Alicia Belvedere
Breathing for Emotional and Spiritual Growth
Breathing has been used for 1000s of years to deepen our connection to self and spirit, as well as to alter our consciousness. Breathwork, as it is known today, encompasses a broad range of whole-being practices that integrate the mind AND body to develop greater self-awareness, relieve tension, heal past wounds, and more. The more you are open to this experience, the more you will reap its benefits. Breathing can truly transform your life.
The Benefits of Breathwork
Relief of mental, physical, and/or emotional tension
Improved self-awareness and new perspectives/insights into old patterns and harmful habits
Letting go/releasing of old wounds, limiting beliefs/stories
Deeper spiritual connection and higher states of consciousness
What is Conscious Connected Breathing?
During our session, I will be teaching a technique called conscious connected breathing. Unlike breathing for relaxation, there is no pause between the exhale and inhale in this type of breathwork. Sometimes this makes it uncomfortable as tingling and lightheadedness may arise. You will be reminded that you are safe and these are normal sensations created by the imbalance of oxygen and C02 in the body. In addition to our breathing, we will incorporate affirmations and movement to accelerate our emotional and physical responses.
Preparing for the Session
Find a quiet and safe space to lay a yoga mat down.
Have a blanket to cover your body if you become cold.
Have pillows available and a bolster to place under your knees
An eye mask can help block out outside distractions.
Spend time prior to your session thinking about what do you need, what are you missing, what is stuck?
