Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage with Gabrielle Gregatti

Back in Brazil, lymphatic drainage is a popular esthetic treatment that locals commonly get done. Growing up in this self-care culture Gabrielle is bringing it here at LMB by integrating the beauty component as well as the health benefits. Gabrielle’s style is more of a treatment to bring blood flow to the tissues to help heal the muscles and joints. It is beneficial for stagnated bodies that have not moved in a long time or are not as active due to sedentary jobs – just like opening the windows in a room that has not be aired in a long time the Brazilian lymphatic drainage flushes out the old to make space for new nourishing fluids. In her practice, Gabrielle will use stronger pressure and a faster pace to stimulate blood and lymphatic flow. Her ideology is to work with the body and not against it to make sure all parts are well nourished. Gabrielle believes in a painless treatment. She guides her client through breathing exercises that relaxes the nervous system and will go deeper as the body feels safer.

Her practice is complemented by her RMT education as well as her extended education in health and fitness, which allows her to prescribed stretches and homecare exercises with confidence. Gabrielle views the body as a whole and considers the lymphatic system, fascia, muscles, fat cells, including emotions that are trapped within the body. Gabrielle’s goal is to release tension through the nervous system and will include breathing exercises, communication when necessary, as well as, massage oils and essential oils suitable for the patient’s needs. It is important to her to respect the body and that will let her know when it is ready to be released. In that way she also helps clients trust their own body more.

As a care practitioner, “you can’t pour from an empty cup”. Gabrielle practices her own self-care by taking baths and using essential oils in her everyday life. Her joys in life are spending time with her child and cat, going for bike rides and strolling through the hallways of art galleries.
