LMB Recommends: Boosting your Internal health

Oregano oil

Oregano oil is a power-packed herb known for its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. Amazing as a preventative as it can be used as a treatment for cold, flus and coughs.

Great for fighting oral bacteria and helps clear bad breath!

It is used in Italian and Mediterranean dishes to enhance flavour as well.

How to use:

If you can take it straight from the dropper, great!

If not, it can be mixed in orange juice or some water and consumed.

For topical use:

Clean the skin, soak a cotton ball with oregano oil and apply on the affected area 3x a day until results are obtained. Caution, no open wounds!

For your Mediterranean dishes, add some oregano oil as a garnish or add it to olive oil and make a salad dressing.

Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is an ancient medicinal herb used to boost brain function, balance blood sugar and help curb anxiety and stress by balancing cortisol levels.

In Ayurvedic medicine, it has been used for over 3000 years to increase energy and concentration. One of the best benefits of Ashwagandha is cortisol balance.

Cortisol is released by adrenal glands during times of stress. Most of us lead stressful lives these days and have chronically elevated cortisol levels which also unfortunately leads to blood sugar imbalance.

Ashwagandha acts as an adaptogen which means that it adapts to our body's stress response and helps balancing cortisol as well as blood sugar!

How to use:

Take supplemental ashwagandha daily as per bottle instructions or as prescribed by a health practitioner.  There are also tea forms available as well.

Magnesium

Magnesium is one of the major minerals our bodies need. It is crucial for our muscles to function optimally.

Women tend to be more deficient in magnesium than men, however, anyone who leads an active, athletic, or a stressful life needs magnesium.

Magnesium can relax tight and stiff muscles, reduce muscle cramps, reduce menstrual cramps, very important for cardiovascular health, treats constipation, reduces anxiety and restlessness and aids in a restful sleep, among many many other benefits.

How to use:

Supplemental magnesium can be taken in a capsule for up to 350mg per day, or as directed by a health care practitioner.

Magnesium can be added to baths or applied directly to the body in a balm form to relieve muscle tension.
