Giving Back to the Community

In order to give back to the community and spread healing throughout the city, Lite Mind Body has created several community initiatives to increase access to the healing services individuals need for optimal mind and body health. The clinic is always looking for ways to give back from local festivals and charity galas to community events that offer services at a discounted rate. This spring, the clinic launched their Self Care Club - designed to make healing services more accessible for those without insurance coverage. For just $99/month, members receive one sauna session and one free treatment from the clinic’s member’s only menu to support their health and wellness. As we come towards the end of 2023, check out what Lite Mind Body is doing to spread healing throughout Toronto in the years ahead:

  1. Bioenergetic Therapy for Residential School Trauma

Bioenergetic Therapy is a new form of energy healing which focuses on testing specific muscle points to gain access to a patient’s subconscious to better understand why and how trauma is showing up in the body. This treatment has many benefits for those suffering from PTSD and trauma, as it can uncover the physical manifestations of trauma, the brain’s subconscious beliefs and the remedies the body requires to restore balance. Lite Mind Body is proud to offer free initial Bioenergetic Therapy treatments to those in the Indigenous community to aid in healing from residential school trauma. In helping individuals process and heal from their trauma, Lite Mind Body hopes to play a role in uplifting the life and culture in local Indigenous communities, namely the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.

2. Supporting First Responders

Firefighters regularly face life-threatening situations in order to keep us safe. That’s why Lite Mind Body decided to give back, offering all firefighters a 20% discount on infrared sauna sessions at the clinic. Sitting in the sauna for forty-five minutes is a good way to detox the body - sweating out heavy metals, toxins, and clearing the pores. It’s also a great tool for muscle recovery from working out or strenuous activity. Regular sauna sessions are a great way for firefighters to destress while tending to their health and wellness.

3. Community Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a non-invasive alternative medicine that can provide relief from a host of ailments including physical injuries, illness, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. By focusing on specific energy points (meridians) acupuncture helps to restore balance in the body and reduce mental or physical suffering. On a regular basis, Lite Mind Body offers Community Acupuncture, providing healing for a day at a discounted rate so those without regular access can benefit from the healing powers of acupuncture. Keep an eye on the clinic’s upcoming events to find out when the next community acupuncture day is coming up!

4. Free Sauna Sessions for Chemo Patients

Chemotherapy takes a toll on the body - weakening the immune system and increasing fatigue, nausea and muscle pain. Infrared saunas are designed to target these issues - the slow increase in temperature inside of the sauna allows for your core body temperature to rise helping you sweat out toxins, boost your white white blood cell count and soothe muscle pain and tension. Many also experience an energy boost after their session thanks to an endorphin spike. To help ease the suffering of chemotherapy, Lite Mind Body offers free sessions for all those currently going through treatment.
