One of the first questions our clients have when inquiring about sauna near me and they find Lite Mind Body Thermotherapy Clinic is:  “What are the differences between our infrared sauna experiences vs. a typical sauna experience?”.  We wanted to take the time to answer those questions:

There are a number of features to look at when choosing between saunas, especially when you are trying to find a clinic near me locally in Toronto:

  • Social Experience

  • Temperature

  • Heating strategy

Social Experience

Within a typical sauna near me social experience, the sauna is quite big and can fit more than a few people. Infrared Saunas are meant to be an intimate experience where you and 2 friends can enjoy Lite Mind Body sauna. Think of an infrared sauna experience as a more private escape.

With an emphasis on reducing your social circle now more than ever, the infrared sauna experience gives you that time you need to relax but also socialize in a safe and intimate environment.

Temperature

The best part of any type of sauna, is the ability to relax and sweat toxins within your system. However, there are different ways to do this.  The goal of infrared sauna is not to achieve high, uncomfortable temperatures but to optimize your time to relax as best as possible.

With a typical sauna, you may be able to sit and relax for 15-20 minutes before needing to get air.  In infrared saunas, you will still sweat significantly but with lower temperatures. With the Lite Mind Body experience, you can sit and relax in the sauna for much longer.

Heating Strategy

When in a traditional sauna, you are entering a room where the sauna walls are warm and the air temperature is set at a high degree. During an infrared experience, you will be under an infrared emitter where the infrared energy warms the body and relaxes muscles and joints. Infrared emitters are the sole source in the room that will increase body temperature and cause you to sweat.  Once the lights are shut off, the heat goes away and does not linger.
