Gina Lai - Personal Trainer

This month, Gina joined Lite Mind Body as a Personal Trainer bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and passion for health and fitness. Gina’s interest in Personal Training sparked while working Part-Time at Goodlife Fitness. At the time, she was working full-time as an Ultrasound Technologist and noticed she was most excited about her shifts at Goodlife where people were dedicated to improving their health. Having spent time working at the hospital during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gina witnessed first-hand the importance of maintaining physical, emotional and mental health and decided she wanted to dedicate her time and energy to preventative health care. Since then, Gina has become a certified personal trainer, accomplished mobile training, and worked at a Pilates studio before joining the Lite Mind Body team.

Gina takes a holistic approach with her training, focusing on helping clients see the benefits of a healthier, active lifestyle over simply focusing on aesthetics and harsh tactics to look a certain way. To ensure her clients are benefiting from their training, Gina focuses on things such as longevity, improving the immune system, improving mental health, decreasing chronic pain, and improving mobility. Rather than simply focusing on helping clients reach certain fitness goals, Gina takes into account their unique needs and lifestyles to create a sustainable, realistic and effective plan for clients to follow so they can see a positive change in their lives as a result of working together.

Gina takes pride in witnessing her client’s positive progress. Oftentimes, clients are surprised to find themselves capable of things they never thought possible - such as lifting more weight than they have before or going longer periods without chronic pain thanks to their training. Gina focuses on helping clients become their best selves and finds her work most fulfilling when she gets to help people realize their strengths and capabilities through her training program.

In her own life, Gina incorporates her practice by prioritizing her mental and physical health. She does this by keeping a consistent workout schedule, prioritizing sleep, nourishing her body, journaling, reading and regularly attending therapy. She tries to ensure each day she partakes in daily movement - even if it is just a fifteen-minute walk or a ten-minute stretch - to remain active. By focusing on her health, Gina is able to consistently show up for clients as her best self and guide them on their own health and wellness journey.

For Gina, self-care looks like regular movement - incorporating strength training and mobility workouts four times a week, going on daily fifteen-minute walks and visiting an infrared sauna regularly. To prevent burnout, Gina focuses on quality time with loved ones, as well as time alone to relax - whether that be reading a book, watching a comfort show, or trying out a new hobby.
